The iHeartRadio Music Festival is a two-day music concert festival held each year in September since 2011 by iHeartRadio in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.

From 2011 to 2015, the festival was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2013, iHeartRadio added the free Daytime Village at the iHeartRadio Music Festival which takes place at the Las Vegas Village [1][2]. In 2016, the iHeartRadio Music Festival moved to the T-Mobile Arena.

The annual event has aired as a television special every year since its launch. In 2011 the event was televised by VH1, while every edition since 2012 has been broadcast by The CW.[3][4][5][6]

According to Billboard, the main festival "showcases some of the most well-established artists in the genre" while the village showcases emerging artists.[7] In 2013, the magazine wrote that the festival had "quickly established itself as a home to every major artist."[2]

The iHeartRadio Music Festival is part of iHeartMedia's roster of major concert events, which includes the iHeartSummer’17 Weekend by AT&T; the nationwide iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Concert Tour; the iHeartCountry Festival; and the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Coldplay are a British rock band formed in 1996 by lead vocalist and keyboardist Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland at University College London (UCL).[5] After they formed under the name Pectoralz, Guy Berryman joined the group as bassist and they changed their name to Starfish.[6] Will Champion joined as drummer and backing vocalist, completing the lineup. Creative director Phil Harvey is often referred to as the fifth member by the band.[7] The band renamed themselves "Coldplay" in 1998,[8] before recording and releasing three EPs: Safety in 1998 and Brothers & Sisters and The Blue Room in 1999. The Blue Room was their first release on a major label, after signing to Parlophone.[9]

Coldplay achieved worldwide fame with the release of the single "Yellow" in 2000, followed in the same year by their debut album Parachutes, which was nominated for the Mercury Prize. The band's second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), was released to critical acclaim and won awards including NME's Album of the Year. Their next release, X&Y, the bestselling album worldwide in 2005, received mostly positive reviews, though some critics felt it was inferior to its predecessor. Their fourth studio album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008), was produced by Brian Eno and released to largely positive reviews, earning several Grammy Award nominations and wins at the 51st Grammy Awards.[10] In October 2011, Coldplay released their fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto, which topped the charts in over 34 countries and was the UK's best-selling rock album of 2011, but received mixed reviews.[11] In May 2014, they released their sixth album, Ghost Stories, which also received mixed reviews and topped several national album charts. In December 2015, the band released their seventh album, A Head Full of Dreams, which reached the top two in most major markets, but received generally mixed reviews.

Coldplay have won 62 awards from 209 nominations throughout their career, including nine Brit Awards—winning Best British Group four times—five MTV Video Music Awards and seven Grammy Awards from 31 nominations. They have sold more than 90 million records worldwide, making them one of the world's bestselling music artists.[12] In December 2009, Rolling Stone readers voted the group the fourth-best artist of the 2000s.[13] Coldplay have supported various social and political causes, such as Oxfam's Make Trade Fair campaign and Amnesty International. They have also performed at charity projects including Band Aid 20, Live 8, Global Citizen Festival, Sound Relief, Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief, One Love Manchester, The Secret Policeman's Ball, Sport Relief and the UK Teenage Cancer Trust.[14]

Headliner

Khaled Mohamed "DJ" Khaled (born November 26, 1975),[1] is an American record producer, radio personality, DJ, record label executive, and author. He previously went by the name Arab Attack, but changed it after the 9/11 attacks, as he did not want to appear insensitive.[2] He was a radio host for the Miami-based urban music radio station WEDR "99 Jamz" and the DJ for the hip hop group Terror Squad. From 2004 to 2006, Khaled assisted in the production of the hip-hop albums Real Talk by Fabolous, True Story by Terror Squad, All or Nothing and Me, Myself, & I by Fat Joe.[3]

In 2006, Khaled released his debut studio album Listennn... the Album. He went on to release We the Best (2007), We Global (2008), Victory (2010), We the Best Forever (2011), Kiss the Ring (2012) and Suffering from Success (2013). In 2009, Khaled became the president of record label Def Jam South and he is also the CEO and founder of We the Best Music Group.[4] Khaled released his eighth studio album, I Changed a Lot, on October 23, 2015. In July 2016 he released his ninth studio album Major Key, and on June 23, 2017, his tenth studio album, Grateful, was released.

Headliner

Abel Makkonen Tesfaye (born February 16 1990), known professionally as The Weeknd (pronounced "the weekend"), is a Canadian singer, songwriter and record producer.[2]

In late 2010, Tesfaye anonymously uploaded several songs to YouTube under the name "The Weeknd". He released three nine-track mixtapes throughout 2011: House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence, which were critically acclaimed.[3] In 2012, he released a compilation album Trilogy, thirty tracks consisting of the remastered mixtapes and three additional songs. It was released under Republic Records and his own label XO.

In 2013, he released his debut studio album Kiss Land, which was supported by the singles "Kiss Land" and "Live For". His second album, Beauty Behind the Madness, which became his first number one album on the US Billboard 200, included the number-three single "Earned It" and produced the number-one singles "The Hills" and "Can't Feel My Face". The songs have simultaneously held the top three spots on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart, making him the first artist in history to achieve this.[4] The Weeknd has won two Grammy Awards and nine Juno Awards.[5] In September 2016, the release of the third album Starboy was announced along with the release of the title track single "Starboy", which subsequently reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.[6]
